Brief battle report. More explanation on what’s been going on later. It hasn’t been dull (though I might wish it was…).
Book 3 statistics – 11 chapters left composed of 14 total scenes. Page-wise, I’d say I have roughly 80 pages left to write. Goal-wise, I’m shooting for having the basic story finished by May 31st.
It’s a tight deadline, especially with the other stuff on my plate at the moment. I’m burning to get this story done, though, if only because it’s got me wired mentally to the point where I’m not sleeping as much.
In other news, it’s occurred to me that I need to take more care with naming things. My friend Katherine and I have a habit, you see, of using acronyms, and it’s not working out well for me. BT, for instance (for Battle for the Throne). When I first shot Katherine an email a long time back with that acronym, she remarked how it reminded her of BLT.
Or a short story I wrote titled “Passing By”. That equals PB. And of course PB = peanut butter. Great…
And then there’s KP (Knights Press, my business). I mentioned something about KP stuff to my mom recently and she didn’t know what KP stood for. I explained and she said KP made her think “Kitchen Patrol” (military acronym; it can also mean “Kitchen Police”). Clearly, there’s a problem here… Either that, or potential for a funny marketing scheme.
