I enjoy writing. I think it’s the greatest job I could have.
I also find it agony at times.
It’s work, folks, sitting down every day and pounding out those words, or—more often, it seems—dragging them forth from the depths of my being.
To make the process less dull, I usually have music playing in the background on loop (like one song 10+ times in a row…) It helps me focus (sort of; I confess that songs with lyrics can be distracting), and can also motivate me. Some pieces serve as theme songs for my writing (i.e. they help me picture a certain scene better, for example). Other pieces I just enjoy as is the case with those below.
These are all energetic, inspiring, triumphant pieces. They make me feel like I can go out and conquer the world (or finish that book you’re all waiting for). 🙂
So, if you’re feeling weary or down or ready to hurl a book you’re writing out the window, check these compositions out. They might just restore your courage and enthusiasm and get you back in gear.
What about you? Do you have any favorite musical compositions that make you burn to finish the race?
