“The past is over and done with; the future I cannot see. The present moment is all mine.”
[I cannot be positive, but I believe this is from St. Faustina Kowalska.]
Good advice for anyone to remember. When I first start writing a book, the process can be overwhelming. There are tens of thousands of words to write, and I know that many thousands of them will be discarded and rewritten before the book is finished. This quote reminds me not to look too far ahead into the future. Nor should I let my mind linger on the past and any faults I may perceive in previous books. Instead, I should focus all my attention on my present work.
